This tart will always manage to look beautiful on a Summer table. Taking inspiration from a French recipe where mustard forms a really delicious base for your veg to sit on top of, this makes for a really tasty lunch or add in some boiled new potatoes and salad for dinner. A mix of different tomatoes sitting on top with basil leaves makes it look delicious too!…

Leek Croustade
Apple & Bramble Tart
If you want to catch the last of the season’s brambles, this recipe pairs them perfectly with tart apples for a delicious and very pretty tart or tartlette. If you’re too late for brambles in your area, the tart works perfectly well without or you could swap them for another berry of your choice. Don’t be put off by the fact that you have to make your own pastry – it really is easy and if it falls apart just patch it together and press to conceal the cracks – everything will go right in the oven! This is lovely on any afternoon tea table, especially if made in the smaller size, or ideal as a weekend dessert. Serve with ice cream or it’s also just great on its own.
Raspberry and red currant frangipani tart
A sweet almond frangipani tart is one of the most beautiful desserts and when set off by the sharpness of fresh raspberries and red currants, it can’t get much better. It really is impossible to tell that this is gluten and dairy free. The pastry is light and crisp and the filling is rich and decadent and you’d expect. A lovely finish to a Summer meal with friends which can served either warm or at room temperature. …
onion and olive tart
We have some gorgeous fresh onions from the garden as well as a whole load of fresh thyme so it’s time for an onion, olive, thyme tart. We’ve made a gluten free olive oil pastry for this one, so it’s a bit more crumbly before cooking than normal, but it does work – you may just have to press it into the tin with your fingers – don’t worry! …
Almond, Purple Sprouting & Pepper Tart
We’re using up the last of our purple sprouting broccoli from the garden in this tasty gluten and dairy free tart. The pastry is crisp and short and the whole ensemble with the addition of the fresh thyme works a treat as a dinner for 4 or a light lunch for a few more. Serve with our spinach, orange and pea shoot salad for its crunch and interesting flavour balance….
Rhubarb Tart
We’ve gone a wee bit more sophisticated with our rhubarb in this recipe – with great results. The ground almonds are delicious and help to keep the pastry base crisp on the bottom by soaking up the rhubarb juice. Serve warm or cold with our recipe for almond milk custard….
Lemon Tart
This is a super quick lemon tart and makes our tasty lemon curd the star of the show! Lovely as a dessert or afternoon tea. You can make it extra special with a drizzle of melted chocolate across the top! (great combo)!…
Cashew Pepper & Spinach Tart
Apple Tart
We’ve had this recipe requested on several occasions because the gluten free pastry is ‘better than normal pastry’! The shortcrust pastry is delicious, crisp and this makes a great tart for dessert or afternoon tea. Bramley apples are the best as the top layer retain their beautiful shape and the underneath go nice and pulpy….
